Wisconsin Dells

This weekend, my parents, sister and I spent two nights in the Dells at Hotel Rome.  It was a good change to just sit for a while.  Lots of the fun.  Moosejaw Pizza is delicious.

One thing that did kinda piss me off:  Hotel Rome, as imaginable, has a roman-themed atmosphere.  Except for the Pirates.  And random ‘jungle’ lettering.  The front facade of the hotel was a replica of the Colosseum.  In the courtyard created by the facade and main office there is a pool.  With a pirate ship.  And a larger-than-life pirate.  A random row of columns stood in front of the indoor theme park (I didn’t dare venture in for fear of further confusion) stood tall.  Adorned with “Indoor Theme Park” written with a Jumanji-esque typeset.

Now don’t get me wrong, a pirate-infested Roman jungle could be completely kick-ass.  But not when you try to take each individual theme seriously.

Smells of Spring.

Milwaukee smells like scrambled eggs in springtime.  Kinda weird.

fuzzy

If everything was really fuzzy, pretty sure I would love it.  Alot.  Because fuzzy is nice.  Real nice.  People would be happier if everything was fuzzy.

Then if everything was fuzzy, people would pay extra for smooth sheets, because it is so different.  Then there would be the smooth fad.  “Wouldn’t it be so cool if everything was smooth?”  people would ask.  They would ask and ask until it became true, then it would be back to fuzzy.  Smooth.  Fuzzy.  Smooth. Fuzzy.  Awesome.

Almost 4.

The semester is coming to a close (in several weeks) but that hasn’t stopped professors from pouring on the work.  Next Thursday is the last day for wet work in ceramics.  My final project, building a clay city to cover a 5′ x 5′ table, has to be completely constructed (along with a few other small projects) in 9 days.  If only it were the most demanding class I had.

Today I also got on the elevator.  While the doors were closing I heard “Hold the elevator.” So I did.  For 30 seconds or so.  Which is kind of a long time to hold an elevator.  Long enough to make it beep angrily.  And have the ungrateful cow you held the elevator complain about why you made the elevator beep.  Then get off on the second floor (from the first).  Maybe I should have started with this detail, but this lady was HUGE.  Unfortunately so.  If she had bad knees or feet or something I could see the need to go up one floor on the elevator.  Too bad that just didn’t seem to be the case.

Candy me this.

I tried to give up candy bars for a bit.  And was doing really well.  Till I had two last night.  Oh well.  I haven’t had one of the delicious brownies from the cafeteria since last Wednesday.  And I told myself that I wouldn’t until next Wednesday.  So… yay.

Yummy things are yummier when they are rationed.
