but…

…all the random remains of hardware gives my room the “mad scientist” look i have always dreamed of!

too bad, ma and pa are making me get rid of all the “spare parts.” i would have figured perfetly fine hardware would be second to go… after college research, notebooks and papers. that my dad wrote. and still has.  and is taking up precious hardware storage space.

silly me.

(dont worry, i will be working feaverishly to make room in my closet. pretty sure almost none of it will actually be thrown out…)

almost a week

so i have been chillin (but not really because it was flippin hot) at bowstring lake.  it is about a half hour from Grand Rapids, and we just got back a bit ago.

we did some fishing (my count was 5 northers, a little perch and a good sized bluegill) ate food, sat around, sat some more, played tetris on the gameboy (only I did that i guess) and watched 5 hummingbirds fight over the feeder (wich had 7 little feeding port flower things, they could have shared).

anyway, watching the hummingbirds was by far my favorite part.  they were just so funny.  the meanest of them (i named him harry) would sit in a tree at the corner of the cabin until another hummingbird came by to have a snack.  as soon as harry saw the other one coming, he would swoop down and chirp like no other!  he could scare one or two others away, but when they were all hungry and swarmed him, he just got mad and made alot of noise.

and in the short time i have been home, the boss at color me mine is already mad.   apperantly being gone ALL WEEK does not include friday, because i was supposed to work at 1.  if any of you were wanting to see me wearing the funky apron thing hanging out with old ladies and little kids, it seems your chances may be limited.  o.0

whatever.

i figured out when it is that i am leaving, and it is in about 5 minutes.  i also figured out when i am coming back, and that is next week sometime.

the second (i think) week in august my parents/siblings are going back, but i have to work so… week long party.  (or slightly less than a week because i will have to clean up before they get back)

anyway, see ‘yall later.

my neighbors will hate me

when i grow up and have my own house, i am pretty much going to set up a sprinkler in my yard that goes across the sidewalk, across the street and across the other sidewalk.

 the birds will love me.

vista is nice… and disabling activation is a piece of cake… however, it seems there is a safeguard.  explorer slows to a crawl, any program that came with windows will not run and it takes away alot of stability.

twisty-twab

i am writing from windows vista beta 2 today.  the visuals are amazing.  stability is what you could expect from a beta and activation takes literally 10 seconds to disable.  the only down side so far is creative has no vista beta 2 drivers for their sound cards, so i am unable to revel in my music, fully enjoy video games or be annoyed every time i close a window by the default settings.

all my programs work so far, with the exception of AIM 5.9 (though trillian may work, havnt tried yet).  oh well.  flip 3d worked well once or twice when i first installed, but hasnt since.

i also just found out about deteriorating circumstances in the home of the best neighbors we ever had.  i know it wasnt the sole reason, but katrina was the breaking point.  sarah is probably 10 or 11, abby 7 or 8.

New Orleans is not a happy place.

boom

we went to the fireworks.  they were fireworky.

and, do not approach a box of bottle rockets that has been set on fire, even if you think they all have gone off.  apperantly, they hadnt.  and apperantly the piece of sky the rocket had intended to fly towards, and subsequently blow up in, was hidden behind my face somewhere.  oops.
